Mobile Maker Labs. Limitless Potential.
Since 2013, STE(A)M Truck has been on a mission to democratize access to hands-on STEAM education for Georgia's students—no matter their zip code or school funding.
STE(A)M Truck was born from a simple observation: students learn best when they can touch, build, and create—but most schools lack the resources to provide cutting-edge maker education.
What began as a truck and a toolbox has grown into a $1.2M organization serving thousands of students across Georgia. But our mission remains the same: ensure every student has access to the tools, technologies, and hands-on experiences that unlock their creative and technical potential.
Core Values:
Accessibility: We remove barriers—geographic, economic, and systemic—that prevent students from accessing high-quality STEAM education.
Hands-On Learning: We believe students learn best by doing. Every program centers active making, designing, and creating.
Excellence: We deliver professional-quality programming with industry-standard tools, experienced educators, and rigorous curriculum.
Student-Centered: Students' interests, identities, and communities shape our programming. We meet learners where they are.
Partnership: We work collaboratively with schools, organizations, families, and corporate partners to maximize impact.
Equity: We prioritize serving under-resourced communities and historically marginalized students who have been excluded from STEM opportunities.
What Makes STE(A)M Truck Different
We're Not Just Another STEM Program
Mobile Access: Our fabrication labs come to students—we eliminate transportation barriers and bring world-class equipment directly to school parking lots and community centers.
Turnkey Solution: Schools and organizations don't need to purchase equipment, develop curriculum, or train staff. We provide everything.
Real-World Tools: Students use the same 3D printers, laser cutters, and design software that professionals use in industry—not dumbed-down "educational" versions.
Corporate Partnerships: Our relationships with Nike, Micron,
Amazon, PPG, and other industry leaders connect students to real careers and mentors.
Age-Appropriate Progression: From PreK through high school,
our programming builds on itself—introducing concepts
early and deepening skills as students mature.
Our Approach
1. Inspire Curiosity We start by sparking wonder and showing students what's possible when they have access to powerful creation tools.
2. Build Skills Through scaffolded, hands-on projects, students develop both technical competencies (design software, coding, fabrication) and 21st-century skills (collaboration, problem-solving, resilience).
3. Apply Knowledge Students tackle real-world challenges—designing products for actual clients, solving community problems, competing in authentic design competitions.
4. Reflect & Iterate We teach that failure is part of learning. Students test, troubleshoot, refine, and improve—developing the growth mindset essential for innovation.
5. Share & Celebrate Culminating showcases allow students to present their work to families, communities, and partners—building confidence and communication skills.
